    Overcoming Addiction Together
    3 Part Workshop Series

    This series of workshops will focus on several aspects of overcoming addiction, including: the science behind addiction, boosting skills and learning about resources to overcome trauma and addiction, and caring for ourselves as we care for those challenged with substance use disorders. 

    Who should attend? Healthcare, public health and behavioral health professionals, recovery coaches, social workers, educators, law enforcement/safety/courtroom professionals, students, concerned loved-ones and community members.

    The ASAM Review Course in Addiction Medicine is widely recognized as the essential primer for physicians and other healthcare professionals preparing for a career in addiction medicine, as well as for primary care providers who wish to increase their skills in identifying and managing patients whose medical problems are caused or exacerbated by substance use disorders.     This session is presented as a live four-hour activity, which, when paired with ASAM's four-hour on-demand course, will provide necessary education for participates to apply for and obtain their  Buprenorphine Waver through the American Society of Addiction Medicine. 



    ASAM is an approved provider by CSAT/SAMHSA of DATA 2000 training. This blended format combines 4 hours of live learning with 4 hours of self-paced online learning for a total of 8 hours. The live portion of the course will introduce learners to treating opioid use disorder with medications. The online portion is completed after the live portion and focuses on special populations and cases. Upon completion of the live course, learners will be issued access to the online portion of the blended course through the ASAM e-Learning Center.

    ACCREDITATION: The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    DESIGNATION: The American Society of Addiction Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
